The Wastewater Treatment Plant:
The plant uses a biological treatment process followed by chemical clarification, filtration, and disinfection to prepare the water for discharge.  The raw Influent capacities at this facility are limited to 0.25 maximum daily.
How Does a Wastewater Collection and System Work:  
The wastewater collection systems are designed by gravity utilizing the natural slope of the land and built to collect and convey wastewater from homes, businesses and industries through a system of collection sewers.   Raw influent, collected from the gravity-fed sewer collection system, is pumped into the treatment facility using submersible pumps. The wastewater collection system conveys the wastewater and solids to your treatment plant where the pollutants are removed before the water is discharged to a body of water.
   
How Does Wastewater Treatment Work: 
The basic function of wastewater treatment is to speed up the natural processes by which water is purified. There are two basic stages in the treatment of wastes, primary and secondary, which are summaried here.

• Primary Treatment  In the primary stage, solids are allowed to settle and removed from wastewater. As sewage enters a plant for treatment, it flows through a bar rack or screen, which removes large floating objects such as rags and sticks that might clog pipes or damage equipment. 
   
• Secondary Treatment The secondary stage uses biological processes to further purify wastewater. The secondary stage of treatment removes about 85 percent of the organic matter in sewage by making use of the bacteria in it. The principal secondary treatment techniques used in secondary treatment are the trickling filter and the activated sludge process.
